We use digital X-rays. These reduce the radiation you are exposed to in comparison to traditional X-rays. We show you the details of your X-ray and discuss in detail the findings with you.

White Fillings – a better alternative

If you have minor tooth decay then this can be treated with a simple filling.

As a precautionary measure the department of health advises that pregnant women should avoid silver mercury fillings. Some countries have completely banned the use of mercury fillings.

Currently there is no evidence that mercury fillings are toxic. However, we extend the precautionary principle applied to pregnant women to all our clients and have never used silver mercury fillings in our practice. We use white fillings only.

White filings have the benefit of having a much more natural appearance compared to silver fillings. Cosmetically they are a much better option.

Ceramic Inlays and Onlays

If you have extensive tooth decay then the area of damage may be too large for a filling. In these circumstances ceramic inlays and onlays can be used to repair the tooth successfully.

Root Canal Treatment to save your tooth

Root canal treatment is required when the nerve and blood supply to the tooth has become damaged because:

• There is an infection inside the tooth.
• The tooth is badly broken down by decay.
• The tooth has been damaged by trauma.

In many cases root canal treatment is a valuable alternative to tooth extraction.
