Preventative Dentistry for Children
For those younger members of the family, the first visit to a dentist can feel like quite a daunting experience. We do all that we can to ensure that it is as pleasant as possible and provided that we can see your child in their early years, we can quickly focus on oral health education and how best they can prevent tooth decay and other dental problems.
Of course, no one will probably be able to convince a child that sweets and sugary drinks are bad for them, try as we might; but we can at least ensure that they are armed with the knowledge that they need to make sure that their teeth are cleaned properly and thoroughly to prevent the decay that this would otherwise cause.
Hopefully, through this preventative care, a child will be able to avoid the more invasive procedures that many children do have to have performed on their teeth. Naturally, some will still need more focused treatment, for example when we need to provide special children’s braces for those younger patients whose teeth are crooked.
These braces are ideally used when the child is between 7 and 9 years old and need no extractions of healthy teeth to be made. The corrective braces will not only give a more pleasing appearance but will create space for their adult teeth to safely come through.
Adult Dental Care
Many of the patients at our Sutton Coldfield practice are adults and as well as providing a range of corrective procedures, we also offer a wide range of cosmetic dental procedures which will, in most cases, improve the function of a patient’s teeth as well as improving their appearance. Whilst some may argue that the aesthetic element is trivial, our patients testimonials suggest otherwise and indicate that as well as improving their appearance, also helps significantly in increasing their confidence and thereby helping them to enjoy life much more than before.

Older Patients
For some elderly patients, the placement of dental implants has been a great boon to their lives and instead of having loose fitting dentures, the dental implants that have been placed have allowed them to eat well once again and no longer feel the need to avoid harder foods. This is especially important to facilitate balanced nutrition well into their later years.
Dental implants can also be used to stabilise dentures or to permanently attach a ‘fixed bridge’ as a full arch replacement.
