The Fastest Method of Teeth Alignment?

How we use the Inman Aligner to correct mild to moderate cases of misaligned teeth at our Sutton Coldfield dental practice.

Although not always suitable for all cases of misaligned teeth, the Inman Aligner is a very popular system for correcting crooked teeth in a short period of time.

Generally speaking, this method works best on the upper and lower front teeth and your suitability as a candidate for the treatment will be determined during the consultation at our dentist in Sutton Coldfield near Birmingham.

Should this method not prove appropriate for your own circumstance, all is not lost as we also have available a number of potential alternatives such as Invisalign, The Social 6 and the 6 Month Smile brace systems.

It should perhaps be noted that the Inman Aligner is not ‘invisible’ as many adult orthodontics are, but this is certainly offset by the speed in which they perform their task, meaning that they have to be worn for a shorter period of time in most cases.

How do they work and how long does it take?

By using a coiled spring positioned at the rear of the teeth and a bar at the front, the Inman Aligner uses a gentle force to reposition the teeth into their required positions.

The time taken for these adult orthodontics to complete their task will vary according to each case and an estimate will be provided by the dentist at Arthur House Dental Care during the consultation. Generally speaking though, in most cases, it is likely to be between six and sixteen weeks for the full effects to be noticed.

Because the appliance is removable by the patient, those who remove it for longer periods of time will prolong the overall time that it takes to work. Generally speaking, it should be worn for approximately twenty hours each day.

Comfort

As you might expect, all orthodontics can take a little getting used to at first and some patients may find that they salivate a little more initially and, in some cases, speech may be mildly affected. This soon returns to normal though as the patient becomes more familiar with the aligner.

Hygiene and aesthetics

Like Invisalign braces, the Inman Aligner brace is designed to be removed whilst eating which also enables the teeth to be cleaned and flossed before returning the aligner to the mouth.

This is highly beneficial to the patient’s oral health as there is less chance of food particles becoming trapped and causing decay. It also significantly reduces the likelihood of the onset of gum disease.

As a bonus, at Arthur House Dental Care, we offer a free teeth whitening procedure with the Inman Aligner. This ensures that our patients not only have straighter teeth but whiter ones too!
